HaloSafe
Integrated smoke detector and modern ceiling light
Designed as both an everyday ceiling light and an emergency guidance system, this fixture seamlessly integrates into the home while remaining ready for crisis, transforming from ambient illumination to clear, life-saving direction when it matters most.

Project duration: ~10 weeks
In a residential fire, the greatest danger isn’t just the flames, it’s confusion.
What if emergency systems could guide, not just alert?
What if protection were built into the objects we already rely on?
HaloSafe transforms everyday lighting into life-saving guidance, projecting exit arrows and giving audio cues when you need them most, all while staying a reliable light every day.
More than a fire alarm, the HaloSafe detects danger and shows you the safest way out.
Home is meant to be safe—until it isn’t.
Bedrooms are the leading location of where fire fatalities occur.
Fire fatalities in residential buildings are most likely to happen between 10 PM and 6 AM.
“Seventy percent of fire victims in residential buildings were escaping (36 percent) or sleeping (34 percent) at the time of their deaths.” (US Fire Administration)
